Angela & Jeremy | Wichita Mountains | Oklahoma Engagement Photography

I was thrilled to hear that an old friend I use to work with is moving forward in life and get engaged this year. Humbled to hear that we were even considered to cover their wedding and their engagements. I decided that I would like to mix it up and get to the great outdoors that Oklahoma has to offer. I had heard a lot about the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Lawton, Oklahoma. We packed up and set out on a afternoon trip down to Lawton for an engagement session. We knew there would be big rocks, red dirt and we hoped for buffalo.

That was really more for me. I’m pretty afraid of heights so I needed some warming up to the idea of going all the way up. But I know there was going to be a great payoff for going all the way up by car. Yup, so scared that not even the security of a car could calm my nerves. Couldn’t imagine a long hike or free climb. I just wouldn’t be able to do it.  Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino Definitely worth it in the end. This was my favorite shot from the whole day. Visibility was great that day and made for a great photo. Couldn’t have asked for better weather for this engagement session. And as always, Jeremy being a gentleman. Chivalry never goes out of style.  Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino Oklahoma Engagement Photographer Rick Patino After shooting around Mount Scott, we headed to the water to finish up the session with a military inspired look.  Oklahoma Military Engagement Photographer Rick Patino

Best of luck out there Penry. We’ll be missing you back in Oklahoma. Congratulations to the couple again. It was an amazing engagement session! We look forward to your wedding next year.

Kathryn & Wes | Oklahoma Engagement Photography

Spring is in the air. It’s beautiful outside and perfect for pictures. It’s just that time of year for outdoor engagement portraits. Wes proposed to Kathryn ear in January of this year. I was lucky enough to able to capture the proposal. Picture perfect. On a quiet January night, on a rooftop downtown, Wes proposed to Kathryn. She, of course, said yes! We love and are humbled by working with our clients for multiple shoots from proposal, engagements to weddings. We feel that it helps them get more comfortable and a better picture in the end.  Oklahoma-Engagement-Proposal-OKC-Musuem-Art-1 The rooftop of Oklahoma City’s Museum of Art is one of the best views of downtown OKC. It was a bit chilly up there in January, but it was worth it. Fast forward to March and Spring. We headed out to the historic Guthrie, Oklahoma for an engagement session. I’m no historian and I don’t know all the historical meaning of Guthrie to Oklahoma’s history. But I do know it was the first capital of Oklahoma and it has kept it’s Victorian architecture. It is just simply cool and beautiful.

We started the afternoon at the Guthrie Masonic Temple. I believe it was the first location of the state capitol. It has these great columns with the Victorian architecture. After we just strolled around downtown. Their downtown is amazing. All these little local shops and everyone is so nice.  Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-1 Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-2 Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-4 Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-6 Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-3 We ventured a bit off the path and found these abandoned silos. We finished out with a beautiful warm sunset. I found this fallen tree just sitting perfect in the sunset.  Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-5 Engagements-Wedding-Photographer-Guthrie-OK-WesKathryn-7 Best wishes to Wes & Kathryn.
